As an example, positions in member states of the European Union are generally restricted to EU citizens or people who hold valid EU work permits.  U.S. citizens are debarred by U.S. law from working in Libya, Iran and Iraq.

Applications from outside Europe are generally discouraged except for Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans and other degreed professionals who hold EU citizenship or work permits.
